Under a certain load, the number of revolutions or hours the shaft experiences before pitting is called shaft life. The shaft within this service life shall have initial fatigue damage on any of its shaft rings or rolling elements. However, in our daily practical use, it can be clearly observed that under the same working conditions, the appearance of the same shaft, the actual life is very different. What causes this? 1、 Improper installation (about 16%)


1. When installing, the force is too strong, in which hitting the shaft with a hammer is the biggest damage to the shaft; it is also the main cause of deformation.


2. There is deviation in the installation or not installed in the shaft position, resulting in too small shaft clearance. The inner and outer rings are not in the same rotation center, resulting in the misalignment.


Suggestion: select proper or professional installation tools for shaft, and use special instruments to test after installation.


2、 Pollution (about 14%)


Pollution can also lead to premature damage of the shaft. Pollution refers to sand dust, metal chips, etc. entering the shaft. The main reasons include: opening the shaft package too early before use, resulting in pollution; the working environment is not clean during installation, resulting in pollution; the working environment of the shaft is not clean, working medium pollution, etc.


Suggestion: it is better not to unpack the shaft before use; keep the installation environment clean during installation, clean the shaft to be used; strengthen the sealing device of the shaft.


3、 Poor lubrication (about 50%)


According to the investigation, poor lubrication is one of the main reasons for the premature failure of the shaft. Including not filling lubricant or lubricating oil in time; not filling lubricant or lubricating oil in place; improper selection of lubricant or lubricating oil; incorrect lubrication mode, etc.

4、 Fatigue (about 34%)
